Markel Wright, 24, was booked into the Charleston County Detention Center just after midnight Friday.

Wright, and 16-year-old Deion Watson are accused of robbing the BP on Highway 17 North at Highway 41 Wednesday night. A witness to the robbery pulled his own weapon and confronted the suspects at gunpoint. The witness held Watson until police arrived, but Wright ran from the scene.

According to police, the two grabbed the money and even fired a shot as they tried to leave the store. Nobody was injured by that shot.

We are awaiting information on the circumstances of Wright's arrest.

Watson is charged with armed robbery. Jail records indicate Wright is facing attempted murder, armed robbery, and weapons charges.
