Montessori teacher found not guilty of cruelty to children

From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:

A Summerville teacher was found not guilty of cruelty to children by a jury Wednesday.

In February, Lystra Zerba was charged with two counts of cruelty to children while teaching at the Summerville Montessori School of the Arts.

A police report stated that a teacher's assistant, who was fired by the director after the fact, witnessed several different types of abuse.

"The jury did the right thing, because she's innocent," says Thomas Rode, Zebra's attorney.
