Goose Creek running back continues to rack up the points

From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:

Just three games into the season, Caleb Kinlaw already has ten touchdowns for the Goose Creek Gators. His Head Coach Chuck Reedy cannot say enough about him, on the field or off. "He epitomizes what a student-athlete is. He is an excellent student, great football player, and an outstanding young man."

"He is what makes coaching so much fun, to be able to have an opportunity to work with guys like him. We expected him to have a great senior year because this is his time, and he certainly hasn't disappointed."

Kinlaw is a leader on the team, although not particularly a vocal one. While he may play with fire and flash on the field, he is nowhere near as loud off of the gridiron. "I am not very loud. I get loud when I need to, but I am not a loud person at all."

Instead, he'd rather lets his moves speak for him. "My thought process is just to try and score anytime I touch the ball. I have always just tried to be a big play man."

A self described learner, Kinlaw tries and succeeds in the classroom as well. The senior has already committed to Georgia Tech for football. The athlete with the A average, plans on majoring in engineering with a goal of graduating early to start on his masters while still playing ball for the Yellow Jackets.

It's all ambition and goals for this running back, but before he heads to college, he has one last dream for high school. "I just want to take my team back to the state championship and I want to be a big part of that. I just want to be able to say that I gave my all every night."

What does Caleb's max effort equal through three games? Adding his stats up, he has 483 yards, 58 carries and 10 touchdowns total. If he kept that up, and if the Gators made it back to state as Kinlaw is hoping, his numbers would be astounding at 2,415 yards, 290 carries and 50 touchdowns.

No matter if he reaches those heights or not, he will most certainly surpass last season's total of 15.
