From our News Partners at WCBD-TV:

The Hit....was a hit on ESPN!

The helmet-popping hit by Gamecocks  DE Jadeveon Clowney won the Play of The Year on the ESPN ESPY awards show Wednesday night.  This play, which took place late in the game against Michigan in The Outback Bowl, was a fan favorite as this award was voted on by fans.

Clowney was in Los Angles to accept the award.  He thanked God, USC fans and his teammates in a short acceptance speech.

This completes a whirlwind tour for Clowney who just 24 hours earlier was in Alabama at the Annual SEC Media Days.

Clowney and the Gamecocks open with North Carolina Thursday, August 29th.
