 Big day ahead for Lowcountry elections

With the first Tuesday in November, always comes a day full of elections. This Tuesday is not going to be any different. Candidates have filled the field in many of the local elections, from Mayoral races to Town and City Council seats.

Voter turnout is projected to be lower than in year's past. According to the Charleston County Board of Elections, about 1,000 people have turned in Absentee Ballots, compared to 2011 when nearly 1,500 turned in ballots.

Below is a list of many of the elections happening around the Lowcountry.

In Mount Pleasant, several candidates are vying for outgoing Mayor Billy Swails' seat. During the summer, he announced that he will not be running again.
